The Statistics Demystification
Can you say that 3 times fast?
I am considering that for the name of my new free monthly statistics and data analysis tele-training series. But I’m not sure I can say it.
If you have any ideas, please email me privately (karen@analysisfactor.com) or leave a comment below.
The idea of the tele-trainings is to create a place for researchers to learn about, discuss, and ask about those statistical issues that just don’t seem to translate well from textbooks and statistics classes to real-life in-the-trenches statistical analysis. The ones the textbooks gloss over with perfect data sets or handwave about, with promises to go over it in more detail in a later class.
The first one is scheduled for December 10th at 7pm.
I’ll announce the topic and give the registration details here tomorrow. I’m announcing it to my mailing list today, and have to give them first dibs.

Why not change the blog to call it what it is, a “StatBlog” or “StatsBlog” and call the teleconferences “StatChat” and market it as a friendly, informal discussion - the non-threatening name may attract more people to call in if they know it’s not just a panel of experts talking over their heads…..just a thought.

Thanks, John. That’s a good point to have a non-threatening name. I’m afraid I already have too many links to the blog as named to change it now, though. So I’ll need another one…
