The Craft of Statistical Analysis Training Webinars
The Analysis Factor’s monthly training webinars provide you with practical information to take the frustration out of statistical analysis. Each month’s training will cover topics with real issues that researchers face in data analysis. These events are always free and hosted by Karen Grace-Martin, a professional statistical consultant, who will be available to answer your questions.
This Month’s Topic:
A Review of Logarithms for the Data Analyst
If you took high school algrebra some time during the last century, you too may not remember all the details of logarithms.
Yet they show up so often in statistics.
And if you don't quite remember what they are and how they work, they can make the statistical methods that use them seem that much more obtuse.
So we're going to review logs--what they are, how they work, and why they work so well in certain statistical applications. We'll also review a couple of those applications--log transformations and log-likelihoods--and see how their implicit nature affects interpretations of those statistics.
