About The Analysis Factor

The Analysis Factor offers statistical services, resources, and support that academic researchers need to conduct quality research.

I founded The Analysis Factor because after working at a really good university statistical consulting office, it was clear that the level of quality statistical support we offered is pretty rare. I didn't have it when I was doing psychology research, and a lot of Cornell's graduate alumni called me when they discovered their new university didn't have quality statistical support for faculty.

I am on a mission to make quality applied statistical support accessible and affordable.

Accessible because you can find it. I'm working on turning The Analysis Factor into the first place to go when you need to find good statistics resources or ask a question.

Accessible because you can understand it. I focus on good explanations in plain English, in my own products and services and in resources I recommend.

Accessible because you can use it. I know you need to understand statsitics so you can apply it to your own data, not as an intellectual exercise.

Affordable because it's not thousands of dollars. There is a role for long-term one to one consulting and project work. I offer that for the people who need it. You may even find it's not as expensive as you think--just an hour or two can move you along a lot, especially if combined with low-cost resources. And it can be less than another semester's tuition.

But most people don't need such indepth service. They need a few questions answered, and good, relevant, applied resouces for learning practical information.

Keep checking back over the next few months as I unveil new resources, services, and programs.

"I have worked with Karen for over 8 years, using logistic and linear regression, factor analysis, mixed models, complex survey analysis, and cluster analysis. She is an exceedingly good and patient "translator" of statistical methods, knowledgeable in the interpretation of statistical output, and a great source of statistical reading material. Karen has saved me many hours of frustration and aggravation."
